The book is loosely based on a nutshell souvenir of San Francisco published in 1906 – the year of the great earthquake and fire. The structure is a one-sheet boustrophedon accordion with carousel-style popups of the bridges of the Bay Area at the points where the pages change direction on the original unfolded sheet. The book is printed digitally, and bound in Kokoto goat with foil stamping.
