Robert C. Bradbury

By Robert C. Bradbury

This book provides bibliographic information on more than  1,600 miniature books examined by the author and describes more than 300 printers and  publishers. It also includes an overview of the development of the American book as reflected in  its smallest examples.

Most of these miniature books are in the collections of the American Antiquarian Society in  Worcester, Massachusetts and the Lilly Library at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  Both the AAS and Lilly Library benefited greatly from the generosity of Ruth E. Adomeit of  Cleveland, Ohio, probably the foremost collector of miniature books. In tribute to Ms. Adomeit,  this bibliography identifies the books from her collection.

In addition to the histories of publishers, there is a chronological list, which includes "Bradbury  numbers" assigned to each title for reference purposes. The entire work is fully indexed by book  titles, authors and publishers.    This hard-bound book contains 357 pages, over 30 illustrations, and comes in an  illustrated printed dust jacket.
